Pregnancy Testing

We offer pregnancy testing, but you must make an appointment for this test. Our average wait time for an appointment is 4-6 weeks from the day you call. Testing is best done after your period is a week late. While it is not mandatory, we do ask for a $5 donation for the test.

We do urine test for pregnancy. This means you will go in the bathroom and pee in a cup. The nurse will put a special stick in the cup that measures pregnancy hormones. This test is the same as what you would purchase at the pharmacy or the dollar store. If cost and/or wait are a concern for you, you may want to consider doing a home pregnancy test first.

When you get a test at HSHC, if the test is positive you will discuss the options with the nurse. You may decide to continue the pregnancy, have an abortion, or choose adoption. Our nurses are knowledgeable and non-judgmental about all of these options and can help you make the best decision for you. They can also help you make any necessary appointments related to your decision.
